About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Respiratory Therapist is responsible for the initiation and management of invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation and acts as an expert of advanced airway management in all areas of the institution. They deliver and manage the administration of oxygen and other compressed gases, aerosolized medications and high humidity therapies. They also perform and interpret related pulmonary diagnostic testing. Respiratory Therapists act as part of the multidisciplinary health care team to help achieve physician goals for patients' cardiorespiratory status, assess, plan, deliver and evaluate effectiveness of respiratory care and airway management for patients. Duties may also be assigned in the Pulmonary Function Testing Lab, Asthma Clinic, COPD Clinic, Sleep Lab, clinics at Roseway Hospital and/or Digby General Hospital, and patient or staff education sessions.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduate of a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy
- Must hold/maintain registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists
- Must hold/maintain certification in CPR at NRP and ACLS levels
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Effective planning, organizing and supervising abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Adaptable and flexible to adjust to the changing needs of the service and the program/facility
- Travel to other sites may be required
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

- Permanent Part-time 50% position: 37.5 hours bi-weekly
Compensation and Incentives
$36.69 - $47.15 hourly
