About the role

The Accounting Summer Student Job will be based out of Dieppe, New Brunswick (100 Midland Drive, E1A 7G9). We are looking for an individual with a can-do attitude who likes to solve problems and wants to gain practical finance and accounting experience in a fast-moving, agriculturally based business. This is a temporary student position.

We have an excellent student program at J.D. Irving with formal and informal opportunities to meet and network with people from across the business, including other students. This is a great experience that will provide you with challenging and valuable work experience learning from industry-leading professionals!

Application Deadline: January 27th, 2026

  • Assist with month end reporting and journal entries

  • Prepare presentations for senior management

  • Provide analysis on customer performance

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks

  • Prepare customer and product profitability analysis

  • Account Reconciliations

  • Assisting with cash applications and daily management

  • Currently attending post secondary education in accounting, business or related field.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities

  • Strong communication and organization skills

  • Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level

  • Ability and willingness to learn and use new technologies and systems

We also carry products specifically for golf courses, lawn & garden, de-icing, waste treatment, and crop seed.

In addition to the products we sell Cavendish Agri Services also provides agricultural services such as crop scouting, GPS mapping, lime spreading, irrigation equipment and farm supplies.
