Under the general direction of the SAP ECC Support Services Lead or SAP Applications department manager, you will be
responsible for providing leadership and management of the architecture and integration of the SAP S/4HANA implementation
project and corresponding sustainment operation. The SAP Technical Platform Specialist brings extensive knowledge of the existing
SAP technical and architectural landscape, helping to ensure that the SAP system aligns with the organization's business needs,
processes, and objectives. It requires a combination of technical knowledge, project management and application sustainment
operation skills.

The SAP Technical Platform Specialist is expected to demonstrate hands-on expertise across a broad range of technical domains
critical to SAP operations. This includes SAP BASIS administration and infrastructure support for both ECC and S/4HANA
environments; SAP HANA and Oracle database operations such as backup and recovery, performance tuning, and patching; and
administration of Linux and Windows operating systems in support of SAP landscapes.

The role also encompasses SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and RISE with SAP cloud operations, transport management,
and system integration across hybrid environments. You will leverage monitoring and automation tools to ensure optimal system
health and performance and apply deep knowledge of SAP S/4HANA infrastructure concepts—including embedded analytics, cloud
identity provisioning, and technical role design. Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) integration and third-party identity
provider connectivity is essential. A forward-looking mindset is required to effectively support Manitoba Hydro's digital transformation
goals within hybrid ECC/S/4HANA environments.

Responsibilities:

SAP ECC & S/4HANA Infrastructure

  • Act as the primary resource for the administration, monitoring, and optimization of SAP technical platforms across ECC and

S/4HANA environments, including SAP HANA databases and cloud-based infrastructure.

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and sustainment of SAP system landscapes, ensuring alignment with business

requirements and IT standards.

  • Provide technical leadership in the setup and operations of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), including integration

with RISE with SAP and other cloud services.

  • Manage and support SAP transport landscapes, ensuring proper configuration, sequencing, and documentation of transport

activities across development, quality, and production environments.

  • Perform system administration tasks including kernel upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and backup/recovery

procedures for SAP systems and databases.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across SAP systems, databases, and cloud platforms, collaborating with

vendors and internal teams as needed.

  • Support SAP security and compliance initiatives by maintaining secure configurations, monitoring access controls, and

assisting with audits and vulnerability assessments.

  • Implement and maintain system monitoring tools and automation frameworks to proactively detect and resolve performance or

availability issues.

  • Oversee connectivity and integration between SAP systems and external platforms, including middleware, third-party

applications, and cloud services.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge base articles to support sustainment

and onboarding of new team members.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating emerging technologies, recommending enhancements, and

participating in innovation projects.

  • Provide on-call support for SAP infrastructure outside of regular working hours, as required.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.

SAP S/4HANA Implementation

  • Support the technical design and build phases of the S/4HANA greenfield implementation, including infrastructure

provisioning, system configuration, and environment setup.

  • Collaborate with functional and development teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of SAP modules

including Signavio, SuccessFactors, ECP, and SAC.

  • Participate in cutover planning and execution, ensuring technical readiness and system stability during go-live and hypercare

phases.

  • Assist in the transition from ECC to S/4HANA by supporting data migration, system validation, and technical reconciliation

activities.

  • Stay current with SAP infrastructure trends, tools, and best practices, particularly in cloud operations and platform

modernization.

Qualifications:

  • A four year degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration or Information Management from a

university of recognized standing with a minimum of five years of directly applicable systems analysis, systems architecture,
and programming experience which includes a minimum of three years computer systems analysis/architecture experience;
OR

  • A two year diploma in Computer Programming Technology or Business Administration from an institute of recognized

standing with a minimum of seven years of directly applicable systems analysis systems architecture, and programming
experience which includes a minimum of three years computer systems analysis/architecture experience.

  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of SAP technical architecture, including BASIS administration, SAP HANA database

management, and cloud platform operations (RISE with SAP and BTP).

  • Must have demonstrated superior personal computer skills, including a high level of proficiency in various software

applications, such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and system monitoring tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and learn quickly in new situations, particularly in evolving SAP cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Proven ability to complete detailed technical work accurately and consistently across complex SAP landscapes.
  • Possess initiative with the ability to conduct infrastructure research, performance analysis, and root cause investigations.
  • Possess an analytical nature and mature judgment with the ability to make and implement sound decisions in high-pressure

scenarios.

  • Tactful and diplomatic in dealing with cross-functional teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive system information with discretion and integrity.
  • Comprehensive understanding of audit controls, system compliance, and security protocols within SAP infrastructure.
  • Prepared to work overtime when required to support system upgrades, cutovers, or incident resolution.
  • Prepared to come in to work at any time during a 24-hour period to ensure system reliability and availability.
  • Prepared to be on-call on a rotational basis to provide a stable and reliable SAP infrastructure for the Corporation.
  • Obtain and maintain a current Personnel Risk Assessment and a "Clear" security rating in accordance with Manitoba Hydro

Policy P513.

Salary Range

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $47.22-$65.19 Hourly,
$90,484.68-$124,925.58 Annually.
