Job Description:
- We currently have opportunities in our General Salvage, Block Salvage, and Crank Salvage departments
- Perform salvage techniques on a variety of machines which may include horizontal Lathes and Radial Arm Drills, Milling Machines, and Surface Grinders; basic operation of CNC equipment (Mills and Lathes)
- Candidates with experience operating manual lathes are of particular interest, but not required
- Maintain and clean equipment as required
- Maintain Caterpillar contamination control initiatives
Qualifications:
- Machinist Journeyperson ticket, or interprovincial Red Seal, is required
- Preference given to those who fall within the value stream & qualify as defined in Schedule C
- Multiple years’ working experience and competency in a crank, block salvage or machine shop
- Experience operating horizontal and vertical Lathes, Radial Arm Drills, Milling Machines, Surface Grinders, and Plate Sanding is preferred
- Experience/proficiency with CNC Mills and Lathes (reading and writing CNC programs) is preferred
- Portable Line Boring experience is preferred
- Must have accurate documentation and measuring skills
- Must be able to understand salvage specifications and related technical documentation, including technical drawings
- Must be able to communicate written and spoken English effectively
- Ability to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds
- A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
- Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner and comply in all aspects of the organizations policies and procedures

We are currently recruiting for positions on our Afternoon and Weekend shifts:
- Static Afternoon shift runs Monday-Thursday, 10 hours per day (4pm - 2:30am)
- Static Weekend shift runs Friday-Sunday, 12 hours per day (6am - 6:30pm)

Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement

Hourly Rate: $51.50 / Hour
