Hardware Lab Technician

About the Role.
We are seeking a hands-on Hardware Lab Technician to support our engineering teams through hardware assembly, testing, equipment maintenance, and general lab operations. In this role, you will build and rework electronic assemblies, maintain lab infrastructure, support hardware validation activities, and ensure the lab remains safe, organized, and fully functional. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented technician with strong electronics skills and a passion for supporting product development.

What You’ll Do

  • Assemble and test electronic circuit boards, prototypes, and test platforms

  • Perform micro-soldering, including fine-pitch SMD (down to 01005)

  • Build wire harnesses and support setup of test stations and laser safety workbenches

  • Maintain lab equipment (UPS units, clean air hoods), coordinate calibrations, and manage repairs

  • Support daily lab operations: stocking consumables, hazardous waste handling, organization, and safety checks

  • Assist with hardware validation setups, debugging support, and ESD-compliant workflows

  • Provide light network/IT support (router setup, device connectivity, basic troubleshooting) Maintain accurate documentation, inventory, SDS files, and asset records

What You Bring

  • Electronics Technologist diploma with 2–4 years of relevant experience
  • Strong electronics fundamentals, component identification, and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with electronics assembly, micro-soldering, and rework
  • Familiarity with lab tools (multimeters, power supplies, soldering stations, microscopes, ESD equipment)
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and commitment to lab safety Strong collaboration skills and ability to work independently on defined tasks

Assets: Experience in R&D or hardware labs, wiring harness assembly, SDS handling, basic networking support, and equipment calibration workflows.

Work Environment

Hands-on engineering lab with frequent use of small electronic components, fine soldering, chemicals (with PPE), and specialized tools, working closely with electrical, mechanical, optical test, software and IT teams.
