The Opportunity
The Property Accountant is responsible for compiling and analyzing data, reconciling accounts, and preparing monthly financial reports in a timely fashion. As part of a team, the Property Accountant provides support, as needed, to the Accounts Payable Clerks and Customer Service Representatives to ensure accuracy. The Property Accountant successfully demonstrates good time management skills, the ability to work under pressure, attention to detail and problem-solving skills. The Property Accountant reports to the Senior Property Accountant and Manager of Property Accounting.

What you bring...
- 3+ years in the accounting field. Experience in property management would be considered an asset
- Some post-secondary, accounting certificate or diploma
- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook is a must. Previous experience in Yardi software programs would be an added advantage
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work successfully within a team environment and independently
- Well organized, resourceful and able to meet tight deadlines.
You will...
- Reconcile GL accounts to ensure accuracy
- Produce journal entries
- Prepare monthly financial reports
- Complete projects for senior management, such as further analysis and reports
- Provide support to CSRs and AP clerks
- Assist with correcting tenant ledgers to ensure accounting accuracy is met
- Review bank reconciliations
- Perform other administrative duties
