Company Description Jessica Design Inc. is a graphic and web design studio that partners with sole proprietors and small businesses to create standout brands. Services include WordPress and Wix websites, print design, and logo creation. Founded in 2017, Jessica Design Inc. is dedicated to “Creating the Impossible” by building distinctive, results-driven brands that help clients reach their goals. We support both local and international clients. The studio maintains a strong connection to the arts and the community, including donating original paintings to charities and participating in tree‑planting initiatives. Role Description The Design Assistant is a freelance contractor role for approximately 8 - 10 hours per month at $20/hr. This is a remote/online ongoing position, ideally based in Canada. (The position can evolve in more hours next year, and depending on the project, when discussed)
The Design Assistant will support certain design and content activities. This includes assisting with social media projects and or some portfolio-based work, preparing digital and print assets, and helping maintain brand consistency across client materials.
Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the lead designer on the company’s social media presence (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google, etc.) Develop creative social media posts and reels as needed Spend approximately 5–10 minutes of engagement per post (liking, commenting, responding, etc.) Schedule social media content and help plan content calendars Coordinate timelines and deliverables with the lead designer Contribute creative ideas, feedback, and suggestions for improving content and design Occasionally, create portfolio images for the website and update blogs or other website content as needed
Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills and a customer-service mindset Foundational knowledge of graphic design, web, social media, or marketing with practical experience supporting design or marketing projects Proficiency with graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or similar, for creating digital and print materials Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple small projects and meet deadlines Education in design, visual arts, marketing, social media, or advertising (or equivalent practical experience) is an asset Experience working with small businesses, freelancers, or creative agencies is an asset Familiarity with web platforms such as WordPress and Wix is an asset
