Position Summary:

The Millwright is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment within the injection molding facility. This includes presses, auxiliary equipment, automation systems, and plant infrastructure. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, precision alignment skills, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, assemble, align, and maintain injection molding presses, robots, and auxiliary equipment (e.g., dryers, chillers, thermolators, conveyors).

  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to minimize downtime.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance activities on production and facility equipment.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.

  • Dismantle machinery and equipment for repairs or relocations, ensuring precise reassembly and calibration.

  • Fabricate and weld machine components or brackets as required.

  • Support mold changes and setups as needed to ensure smooth production operations.

  • Collaborate with maintenance, tooling, and production teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records within the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant performance.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Industrial Millwright (433A) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or injection molding environment.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with injection molding machines (such as Engel, Husky, or Arburg) and related auxiliary equipment.
  • Basic electrical and PLC troubleshooting skills considered an asset.
  • Ability to operate machine tools (lathe, mill, grinder, etc.) for repair and fabrication.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and safety awareness.
