Job Description
The Collateral Management team within the Investment Operations department is responsible for managing and overseeing the exchange of collateral related to a broad set of investments, which includes Futures, Options, OTC Derivatives, Centrally Cleared Derivatives, Repos, Prime Brokerage, and Securities Borrow & Lend. The team plays a critical role in advancing CPP Investments' collateral capabilities, ensuring process efficiency, and maintaining strong internal and external partnerships.
As a Senior Analyst, Collateral Operations, you will be responsible for executing daily collateral processes, supporting operational efficiency, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders. You will contribute to process improvements, risk mitigation, and the onboarding of new businesses, brokers, and trading activities. The role emphasizes analytical expertise, relationship management, and operational execution in support of CPP Investments’ investment strategies.
Accountabilities:

Perform daily collateral management and margin processes across Exchange Traded Products, OTC Derivatives, Centrally Cleared Derivatives, Repos, Prime Brokerage, and Securities Borrow & Lend, ensuring timely and accurate exchange of collateral.

Investigate and resolve margin disputes, reconciliation breaks, and settlement issues by collaborating with business partners.

Identify and implement process improvements, including automation, to enhance operational efficiency.
-
Contribute to the development and maintenance of a robust operating model built on best practices for Collateral Management.

Identify, implement, and maintain internal controls and procedures to mitigate operational and financial risks.
-
Assist in the implementation of new trading activities by assessing operational impacts and ensuring processes are established and tested comprehensively.

Provide analysis and support to Investment Departments, Audit, Legal, Compliance, and other internal stakeholders.

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external business partners to ensure seamless support of collateral activities.
Qualifications
-
Undergraduate degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline.

Minimum of 4 years of direct operational experience in public markets.

Professional designation such as CFA is considered an asset.
-
Experience with SQL, Python, or related tools is considered an asset.
-
Familiarity with systems such as Bloomberg, Murex, FIS Apex, SimCorp, Cassini, TriOptima, and Acadiasoft is considered an asset.

High attention to detail and accuracy, with strong time management skills and the ability to multitask.

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex problems and recommend effective solutions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
