As a member of the Canadian Natural Fire Department, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our oil sands sites through emergency response, community education, and ongoing training. -**Job location:**Horizon or Albian Oil Sands - Fort McMurray, Alberta -**Shift schedule:**7 days on, 7 days off, 12-hour shifts (rotating days/nights) -**Safety sensitive position:**Yes -Application deadline: April 6, 2026
Key Accountabilities:
- Deliver high-quality BLS/ALS medical response in accordance with established protocols
- Ensure effective emergency response by applying professional skills, sound judgment, and appropriate techniques at all emergency scenes
- Assist with the inspection, maintenance, and general readiness of fire apparatus and related emergency response equipment
- Conduct fire code inspections of site facilities and participate in site pre-fire planning activities
- Demonstrate strong leadership and contribute to the training and development of emergency response members
What You Bring to the Role:
- Must have prior experience working as an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) and be in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics with active registration
- Must have NFPA 1001 Level II Firefighter Certification (Pro-board or IFSAC accreditation)
- Must have NFPA 472 Hazmat Awareness & Operations (Pro-board or IFSAC accreditation)
- Valid Class 2/3 and 4 with Air brakes (Q) endorsement driver’s license or another provincial equivalent
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum standard of physical fitness is required
