About Hitfar
Hitfar is a 38-year-old, family-owned Canadian company rooted in the cellular accessory industry. We’ve built our reputation on reliability, long-term relationships, and service to dealers across the country.
Today, we’re entering an exciting new chapter. With a generational transition underway and a renewed focus on modernization, we’re streamlining operations, integrating technology, and repositioning our business for the future. It’s an energetic time of change, and we’re looking for a Financial Controller who can bring fresh perspective, perseverance, and strategic insight to help guide that evolution.
The Role
Reporting to ownership and working closely with senior leadership, you’ll oversee all financial operations and help shape the company’s financial future. This role is ideal for someone who’s hands-on, analytical, and eager to grow. You will balance strong fundamentals with curiosity for AI, automation, and smarter financial systems.
You’ll have influence, autonomy, and the opportunity to evolve the role as the company continues to modernize and expand.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of accounting and financial reporting, including month-end and year-end close.
- Manage cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, payroll (ADP), and inventory accounting.
- Develop and integrate budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support data-driven decisions.
- Strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Partner with ownership on business optimization - from cost management to margin improvement.
- Provide financial insight on capital investments, warehouse optimization, and system or AI initiatives.
- Support the continued evolution of SAP Business One and its integration with other systems.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
- Mentor and support a small, dedicated accounting team.
Qualifications
- CPA designation (CA, CMA, CGA) or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally in wholesale, distribution, or retail.
- Strong understanding of inventory-based businesses, foreign exchange, and margin management.
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (SAP Business One experience is an asset).
- Hands-on, proactive, and adaptable; comfortable doing the work while driving improvement.
- Clear communicator who can translate financial insight into actionable business strategy.
- Tech-curious with a mindset for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Committed to stability and long-term contribution, not a short-term stepping stone.
Why Join Us
- Competitive salary range: $110K - $160K
- Be part of a legacy company with a bold new chapter ahead.
- Play a direct role in shaping strategy, systems, and the future of the business.
- Work closely with ownership and leadership through an exciting generational transition.
- Competitive compensation and benefits package.
