The lifeguard is responsible to supervise community members and groups in a heated hydrotherapy pool. This includes administration duties for booking and statistical purposes, opening and closing their assigned area with a focus on safety and accident prevention and communicating effectively with staff and the public.
Education & Experience
- Current National Lifesaving Society certification including current Standard First Aid
Position Duties & Responsibilities
- Follows Public Health Unit guidelines and enforces as posted/required
- Opens and closes the assigned area with a focus on safety and accident prevention
- Follows Providence Care policies and procedures for pool maintenance and emergency response
- Performs daily chemical testing and recording
- Reports any missing or defective equipment or PPE of which he/she is aware of and which may endanger himself or herself or another worker, to his/her supervisor or management representative
- Ensures positioning on deck at all times and patrols regularly
- Assists pool users and groups to use equipment appropriately and safely
