The CAN Health Network is helping build a stronger, more competitive Canadian economy by connecting health care operators with Canadian technology companies to bring innovative solutions into the health care system. As a federally funded national network, CAN Health works with health care organizations, known as Edges, to identify pressing challenges and match them with Canadian-made solutions that can be validated, procured, and scaled across the country.
At the heart of our operations, the project management team provides funding oversight and Edges complete Commercialization projects. Project managers act as the direct link between health care organizations and Canadian companies.
CAN Health HQ is located in downtown Oakville where you will work, collaborate and build relationships. We are a national Network and have colleagues across Canada.
What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Director, Commercialization Program Ontario, CAN Health is seeking a Project Manager to join the Network who will support projects across the province. You will have exposure to high-profile projects involving multiple organizations across the Ontario region and be instrumental in supporting projects that require collaboration with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including management, clinicians, and private sector key stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
Acts as the lead for Edge Partner Engagement and Relationship Management
- Maintain ongoing relationships, and develop new relationships, with key external partners including but not limited to Edges, Companies, Scaling Partners, Ecosystem Partners, etc.
- Facilitate discussions with clinical and administrative leaders at healthcare partners to identify pipeline project opportunities. Support the exploration of pipeline project ideas and the identification of Canadian solutions that align to project goals/KPIs.
- Lead engagement with specified Edge partners, acting as a point of contact for CAN Health related communications
- Identify strategies within Edge partners to grow engagement. Develop a plan (including KPIs to assess performance) and execute on the plan with regular updates to the Director
- Where necessary, lead and support broader National projects and initiatives at CAN Health.
- Act as Funding Oversight for Projects in their lifecycle
- Oversee multiple commercialization projects within the Network; including but not limited to the planning, coordination, evaluation, and budget management required of the project. These projects will predominantly be in Ontario, but may involve partners and companies from across the Country.
- Support preparation and presentation of project documentation including Call for Innovation (CFI) documentation, proposals, charters, project plans, budgets, meeting agendas and presentations.
- Monitor and report on progress, risks and issues associated with the projects.
- Support the CAN Health claims process for projects underway
- Provide strategies for risk mitigation and resolution where appropriate.
What You Bring
In this role, you will be required to develop creative and targeted strategies to support not only the successes of the projects, but the scaling and widespread adoption of the companies CAN Health supports across Canada.
You will likely bring:
- Successful completion of a university degree (or college diploma) in business, clinical/health informatics, or health-related discipline.
- Experience in project management in healthcare environments such as hospitals, government or private sector is an asset.
- Previous experience working at private Health Tech companies and/or experience in health technology, innovation, commercialization, public sector procurement and business development is considered an asset.
- Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task and priorit i ze tasks effectively.
- Effective interpersonal communications skills and ability to successfully build and maintain relationships with leaders, scientists, research staff and frontline clinicians.
- Regulated Health Professional or Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset but not required.
- Written and spoken competence in English is required, written and spoken competence in French is an asset.
- Ability to travel within the Ontario region and potential travel to other regions of Canada
- Ability to be flexible with work hours to match the needs of the project (and the corresponding Canadian time zones)
