The role

We are looking for a dynamic and versatile IT Project Leader / Technical Advisor in our Chief Information Officer Branch (CIOB). The ideal candidate shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.
The incumbent will lead multidisciplinary teams to plan and deliver digitally enabling projects of various types and sizes to the satisfaction of internal clients. Projects may include IT infrastructure (network, compute, storage) implementation, IT service design and implementation, workload migration, enterprise application implementation, business process automation, or other digitally enabling projects. Projects are often deployed to non-standard IT environments such as research labs or industrial environments, typically involving collaboration among internal and external organizations.
The incumbent will also facilitate business relationship management functions between the CIO Branch and NRC partner Divisions. By developing insight into Divisional strategies, plans, and enabling initiatives and projects, the incumbent will help to shape the CIO Branch’s response to client demand in a strategic and client centric fashion.

Education
University degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems.
Candidates who possess a combination of different degree, relevant training and experience could also be considered.
Designation as a Project Management Professional (PMP) would be considered an asset.

Experience

Recent* and significant** experience leading project teams and managing digitally enabling projects involving multi-disciplinary teams and complex stakeholder landscapes.

Recent and significant experience engaging and communicating effectively with project sponsors and stakeholders.

Experience in Project Portfolio Management.

Experience in Business Relationship Management.

Experience delivering projects in non-standard IT environments such as reseach labs, academic institutions, or industrial settings is considered a significant asset.

Recent is defined as experience normally acquired within the last five (5) years.
** Significant is defined as depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of those duties for a period of approximately three (3) years.

Compensation
From $101,874 to $127,511 per annum.
