Potato Storage Labourer
About the role
Job Description Cavendish Farms is currently hiring Temporary Laboure for our fall harvest season. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a dynamic team in a hands-on, fast-paced outdoor work environment.
- Hourly Wage : $20.42/hr
- Schedule: 7 days a week, 10–14 hours per day
- Start Date: September 2025
- Duration: 4–6 weeks (with possibility of extension)
- Work Environment: Outdoor work
- Overtime : After 48 hours worked each week
Bonus : $2.00 bonus incentive for each hour worked during harvest ( Paid out at the end of the harvest season based on safety and attendance)
Responsibilities Seasonal laborer positions during filling of the potato warehouses will be responsible for:
Backing in potato trucks to unload into storage buildings
Collecting potato samples from trucks, and monitoring potato quality
Cleaning around equipment (shoveling dirt and debris away from product line)
Operation of equipment used in the potato warehouses (I.e., Bin-pilers, and -if qualified- Skid-Steer, Forklift, Wheel-Loader).
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Must have valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to get to and from work.
Ability to lift up to 40lbs (18kgs)
Ability to do manual physical labor;
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment;
Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions;
High degree of attention to detail and demonstrated ability to multi-task;
Previous forklift or skid steer experience would be considered an asset;
Mechanical aptitude and/or previous experience working in farm operations would be considered an asset
Availability to work extended hours, evenings and weekends (Up to 7 days a week, 10 – 16-hour days during harvest season);
