The Measurement, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Analyst supports the Innovation Lab team in research, metrics, analytics and evaluation across all Innovation Lab services. The position collects and analyses quantitative and qualitative measurement and evaluation data and evaluates the impact of projects and other Lab services and overall alignment to strategy. Primary Duties include:

  • Support the development of measurement, evaluation, and learning framework to capture impact and value of Innovation Lab Services (projects, learning and networks).
  • Identify gaps and opportunities for innovation measurement, evaluation and learning based on best practice.
  • Support Project Leads (Sr/Innovation Designers) to develop Theory of Change/Logic frameworks for projects.
  • Identify data collection methods and sources for the project logic frameworks.
  • Support the research and data collection for projects, including both quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Work closely with Project Leads and clients to develop project outcomes, learning goals and strategies that align with organizational objectives.
  • Generate reports, dashboards or other visualizations for Lab projects and strategies using data from various sources.
  • Present findings, insights and learning to Innovation Lab staff and clients/partners.
  • Recommend changes and improvements to the Lab's services based on evaluation findings.
  • Support development and delivery of training on measurement, evaluation and learning professional practice for Innovation Lab staff as necessary.

Qualifications

  • A completed 2-year diploma in Science, Arts, Social Science, Public Administration, Business Design, Planning or related field and at least 5 years of relevant measurement, evaluation, and learning experience, working in complex environments OR a degree in Science, Arts, Social Science, Public Administration, Business Design, Planning or related field and at least 3 years of relevant measurement, evaluation, and learning experience, working in complex environments.
  • Experience with Excel, MS Project, interviews, SharePoint, MS Forms, Power Automate and survey tools would be considered an asset.
  • Success in this position requires effective communication skills along with strong research, presentation and project management skills.

Location: 800 Macleod Trail S.E.

Compensation: Pay Grade 9 $41.49 - 55.51 per hour

Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day

work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
