About the role:

We are actively seeking a Workforce Development Lead that will manage the strategic development and implementation of comprehensive training programs across all workforce segments—operators, maintainers, technical professionals, and staff functions. These programs will focus on job readiness, continuous skill development, and career progression to ensure a future-ready workforce. By embedding industry best practices, competency-based frameworks, and professional standards, this role will strengthen talent pipelines, enhance operational excellence, and support long-term workforce sustainability. The incumbent will act as a catalyst for building a culture of learning and professionalism that aligns with organizational goals and the evolving demands of the operation.

This role will be located at the Cote Gold Mine Site on a Monday-Thursday schedule on a2 year fixed term contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement robust learning frameworks, competency pathways, and structured curricula aligned to operational and technical mining roles.
  • Partner with internal and external SMEs (operations, maintenance, OEMs, safety, and accredited providers) to ensure training meets regulatory, safety, and industry standards.
  • Apply adult learning principles, blended delivery methods, and digital tools to enhance engagement, effectiveness, and knowledge retention.
  • Translate operational and business requirements into measurable learning objectives, assessment criteria, and career development roadmaps.
  • Develop and manage job‑readiness, trainee, and workforce development programs that build sustainable pipelines for critical roles.
  • Collaborate with educational institutions, Indigenous communities, and workforce agencies to support inclusive hiring, ESG commitments, and community engagement.
  • Oversee training delivery by supporting trainers and supervisors, managing competency assessments, and maintaining accurate LMS records.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve programs using performance metrics, learner feedback, operational data, and industry benchmarking.

QualificationsKey Skills & Knowledge:

-Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Adult Education, Education, Organizational Development, Industrial Relations, Engineering Technology, or a related field. -Alternatively a college diploma in a related discipline plus substantive, demonstrable experience in program development and training delivery in heavy industry.

Relevant Experience:

-Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in learning & development, instructional design, or workforce development, ideally within mining, heavy industry, energy, or manufacturing.
