About the role

Brannon Steel is seeking a detail-oriented professional to fill the position of Production Scheduler at its manufacturing facility in Brampton. The Production Scheduler will be responsible for the effective scheduling and coordination of tasks across various machines and departments. This role will facilitate operational activities, such as work scheduling, order processing, plate management, and collaboration with supervisors and other teams. The Primary Scheduler will closely collaborate with the operations team to ensure alignment with the company's overall business goals.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Remote work: No, this is an in-office role.

Responsibilities

  • Use ERP system to schedule work based on assigned priorities.
  • Assign work to available processes and equipment based on job characteristics and shop capacity.
  • Maintain communication with front line supervisors and other management representatives regarding schedules and potential issues.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other departments and functions to support production objectives.
  • Expedite the processing of re-work and rush orders as needed.
  • Prepare, distribute and process production documents in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide direct relief and support to front line supervisors as needed.
  • Comply with all applicable company policies, procedures, and practices.

Requirements

  • Experience in production planning / scheduling.
  • Computer-proficient including MS Windows and Office.
  • Experience with ERP systems is an asset.
  • Highly organized and able to effectively deal with multiple competing priorities.
  • Communicate effectively via email, phone, and face-to-face.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Perform intermediate math.
  • Read and interpret part / technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of carbon steel grades and characteristics.
