Context
We are seeking an experienced Digital Delivery Director to oversee and coordinate all Digital activities across a new project in Ontario. This leadership role works through dedicated BIM, GIS, Doc Control, Information Management, and IT leads to manage a team of 10+ professionals and ensures all project requirements in these domains are met to client satisfaction.
Missions/Main Duties
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Management
- Lead through dedicated BIM Lead, GIS Lead, Doc Control, Information Management and IT Lead to manage 10+ specialists
- Provide strategic direction and ensure alignment of all Digital workstreams with project requirements
- Support leads in achieving their objectives and removing organizational barriers
- Foster collaborative culture across BIM, GIS, IM, Doc Control teams to ensure consistent Digital Engineering Delivery
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between the three disciplines
Project Requirements Management
- Ensure all project Digital Engineering requirements are clearly understood and met
- Monitor compliance with project requirements and contractual obligations
- Track and report on achievement of requirements across all three domains
- Address gaps and implement corrective actions to ensure full requirements satisfaction
BIM Delivery Oversight
- Work with BIM Lead to ensure BIM deliverables meet all project requirements
- Verify compliance with ISO 19650 standards and client BIM requirements
- Support BIM Lead in resolving complex technical or coordination challenges
- Ensure BIM outputs align with project milestones and quality expectations
- Monitor BIM Execution Plan implementation and effectiveness
GIS Operations Oversight
- Work with GIS Lead to ensure GIS activities meet project business requirements
- Support GIS platform admin
- Facilitate coordination between GIS Lead and Client for platform setup
- Ensure GIS deliverables support project objectives and timeline
- Monitor GIS data quality and integration requirements
Information Management and Document Control Oversight
- Collaborate with Document Control Manager and Information Manager to ensure deliverables meet project specifications
- Support resolution of Information/Document-related technical challenges
- Ensure CDE platforms meets requirements
- Verify Document/Information outputs comply with project standards and accuracy requirements
- Facilitate coordination between IM/DC leads and other project stakeholders
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop integrated digital engineering delivery strategy aligned with project requirements
- Work with Digital & IT Discipiplines Leads to establish clear objectives and success criteria
- Ensure delivery plans address all project requirements with appropriate milestones
- Coordinate across the three disciplines to optimize resource allocation and workflows
- Identify and mitigate risks that could impact requirements delivery
- Ensure alignment between digital engineering activities and overall project program
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as primary point of contact for Digital matters with Client and key stakeholders
- Ensure client satisfaction with digital engineering deliverables across all three domains
- Present progress on requirements achievement to client and senior management
- Facilitate resolution of client concerns or requirement clarifications
- Coordinate with Information Management and other project teams to ensure integrated delivery
Quality Assurance & Requirements Compliance
- Establish quality control framework to ensure all project requirements are met
- Work with discipline leads to implement verification processes for requirements satisfaction
- Conduct regular reviews to assess compliance with project specifications
- Track requirements fulfillment and identify areas requiring corrective action
- Maintain evidence of requirements compliance for client reporting and audits
Profile/Skills
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Geomatics, or related technical field
- ISO 19650 certification or equivalent information management qualification
- Professional membership in relevant industry bodies (e.g., RICS, ICE, CIBSE)
- Project management certification (PMP) is highly desirable
IT and Technical Expertise
- Deep understanding of BIM processes, software, and workflows for infrastructures and buildings
- Strong knowledge of GIS platforms and spatial data management
- ISO 19650 standards Certified professional and information management frameworks
- Familiarity with survey methodologies, equipment, and data processing
- Experience with Common Data Environments (CDE) deployment
- Knowledge of digital twin concepts and implementation strategies
- Proficiency in ISO 19650 standards and information management frameworks
Professional Experience
- Minimum 15+ years in digital engineering, IM/GIS/BIM management, or related technical roles
- At least 10 years in leadership positions overseeing multidisciplinary technical teams
- Proven track record delivering complex projects through discipline leads
- Background in client-facing roles with focus on requirements management and delivery
Leadership Competencies
- Strong strategic thinking with focus on requirements achievement
- Excellent ability to lead through others and empower discipline leads
- Proven capability to translate requirements into actionable delivery plans
- Experience managing performance and ensuring accountability for results
