This role is an in-office role within SPLICE’s Calgary corporate office. We are a people-first company and can be flexible with how your hours are structured, but we picture seeing your smiling face in office every day (except Fridays which are frequently work from home, at the discretion of your manager)
Who you are:
You are a**Front-End Developer (New Graduate)**who is passionate about building intuitive and responsive user interfaces. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to gain hands-on experience building modern web applications alongside an experienced engineering team.
You will collaborate with a team of passionate developers to deliver features across our suite of applications.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and maintain user interfaces for web applications
- Implement responsive designs and interactive features
- Work closely with all teams to translate requests and priorities into designs and code
- Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs
- Debug, test, and optimize front-end performance
- Participate in code reviews and team discussions
- Learn and adopt modern front-end development practices
- Create and maintain system and usage documentation
- Adopt modern AI usage to support productivity
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or graduating soon)
- Strong understanding ofHTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks such asReact, Vue, or Angular
- Basic understanding ofGit/version control
- Knowledge of responsive design principles
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Nice to Have
- Experience withTypeScript
- Familiarity withREST APIs
- Experience with issue tracking tools (Jira, Linear, etc.)
- Personal projects or GitHub portfolio
- Internship or co-op experience in software development
