We are currently recruiting for Welder for project work to expand our team in Grimshaw, AB.

The Welder is responsible for cutting and joining metals and other materials at our facilities. You will operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with great precision.

Duties will include the following:

  • Use welding equipment and techniques to join metal components, structures, or parts according to specifications and safety guidelines.
  • Understand and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding procedures to ensure accurate execution of welding tasks.
  • Clean, grind, cut, and shape metal components or surfaces to prepare them for welding.
  • Select appropriate welding equipment, such as gas or arc welding equipment, and set up machines, torches, and other tools necessary for the welding process.
  • Inspect welded joints or structures visually to ensure weld quality, integrity, and adherence to standards.
  • Adhere to safety regulations, guidelines, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on welding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including completed work, materials used, and any quality or safety issues. Report any concerns or incidents to supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-year operational experience as a Welder, particularly in a fleet or industrial setting strongly preferred.
  • Possession of welding certifications or qualifications, such as Alberta Apprentice Blue Book, Red Seal Welder certification, or equivalent.
  • Familiar maintenance of welding equipment.
  • Physically fit to do manual labour and heavy lifting.
