Position Summary Reporting to Director, Lubricants & Product Strategy, the Lubricants Business Development Manager finds and develops new customer relationships for UFA’s lubricant business. The role will research market trends, target relationships, and use proven methods to achieve our strategic goals within targeted commercial segments. The incumbent will be tenacious and intentional in attracting new business.

This position can be located in Calgary or Edmonton.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for executing the sales goals in order to achieve the Lubricant Business targeted EBITDA plan. Contribute to a yearly growth target for UFA’s Lubricants by achieving sales targets
  • Responsible for obtaining new customer contacts and negotiating pricing in the targeted commercial market segment.
  • Develop a strong pipeline of opportunity to support significant growth aspirations.
  • Understand the target markets, including industry, projects, company contacts and which market strategies can be used to attract customers while being prepared to provide sound information and advice on available products and services.
  • Perform detailed analysis of market segments, customer feedback, competitor activity to determine industry trends and customer needs.
  • Attend trade shows and association meetings as required to obtain market information and network.

Qualifications

  • University degree in business. 7 years' petroleum industry experience including a 5+ years proven track record in business sales or related market.
  • Previous experience setting pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Previous experience developing and negotiating sales agreements.
  • Understanding of the lubricants industry an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully develop new and profitable markets.
  • Ability to sell total value to prospects
  • Knowledge of key Alberta Commercial segments like Construction, Mining, Forestry and Transport are an asset
  • Strong communication, negotiating and listening skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft CRM and MS Office Suite is an asset. Strong excel skills to enhance account analysis is preferred.
  • This position will be required to travel to prospect and customer locations. Valid Class 5 license required.

Is a safety sensitive position as will be on site at UFA facilities and will be using UFA material handling equipment. The successful applicant will be required to pass (negative result) a drug and alcohol screening test as a condition of employment.
