About the role

The Narmco Group is an industry leader in the automotive industry for metal stamping and assembly. As a result of continuously growing our professional team, we have a challenging opportunity for Tooling Manager at one of our world class facilities – Central Stampings Ltd.

The candidate for this position is responsible for the supervision of qualified Tool & Die makers and General Contractors in a multi-shift environment in general die maintenance and repair of automotive stamping dies (progressive, transfer, robotic tandem).

The Tool Room Manager is also responsible for implementing and managing preventative/predictive maintenance programs and assisting plant operations with engineering solutions, commissioning, and product launches. This position has direct reports of 4-6 skilled technicians.

Qualifications For Candidates

  • Certified Tool & Die Makers or substantial experience in Tool & Die trade required
  • 5+ years of Tool Room management experience
  • Extensive knowledge in automotive metal stampings
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Experience with systems-orientated preventative and predictive maintenance
  • Proven leadership and coaching abilities
  • Knowledge with progressive/transfer and line dies, including in-press repairs
  • Knowledge of high strength materials and/or aluminum is an asset
  • Very involved floor, hands on management style a must
