Your Role
As a Life Enrichment Aide, you will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to develop and deliver stimulating, resident-focused programs. You’ll play an integral role in supporting each resident’s well-being through individualized assessments and the implementation of Montessori-inspired activities that foster independence and meaningful participation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver group and one-on-one activities that align with residents’ interests, abilities, and care plans
- Promote the use of adult Montessori principles in activity planning and delivery
- Complete individualized assessments and tailor programming accordingly
- Document attendance and participation in accordance with policy and RAI-MDS/MOHLTC requirements
- Actively participate in care conferences, program evaluations, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Foster strong relationships with residents and families, encouraging involvement in programs and events
- Assist in coordinating special events, outings, and seasonal celebrations
- Maintain communication with all departments to support holistic resident care
- Be available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Diploma/degree in Gerontology, Recreation and Leisure Studies, Kinesiology, or a related field, or equivalent qualifications as defined by MOHLTC
- Experience working with older adults, including those with cognitive challenges, is an asset
- New graduates with relevant placements in LTC or retirement communities will be considered
- Demonstrated creativity, initiative, and strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
- A positive, resident-focused approach and commitment to high-quality care
