What you’ll be doing:

The Employment Facilitator (EF) reports to the Employer Engagement Team Lead. The Employment Facilitator will participate in and support the vision of the Skills Department and will focus upon obtaining, monitoring and reporting on the work experience and employment placements for Trades Training participants. The Employment Facilitator will support ongoing projects as determined by the needs of the Skills Department.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the work experience placements of participants

  • Coordinate employment and employment support for participants

  • Employer engagement & recruitment

  • Trades and Tech Training program support

  • Program administrative duties

  • Labour Market Knowledge and Research

  • Community Engagement and Connection

Who we’re looking for:

At a glance, you are someone who:

  • Has a post-secondary degree, or other relevant combination of experience and education: career development, community economic development, business development, social services or adult education

  • Demonstrated success with work training/placements and employment outcomes.

  • Demonstrated success working with Trades and/or Tech employers.

  • Experience in working with immigrants, and/or highly barriered clients.

  • Strong knowledge of trades and the apprenticeship system

  • Ability to use your network and the hidden job market to secure job placements.

  • Ability to establish new connections and leads to secure work experience and job placements.

  • Understanding of Alberta labour market.

  • Demonstrated ability to network, build and maintain excellent relationships
  • Able to work independently and take a high degree of initiative, as part of a dynamic team
  • Sound knowledge of computers and MS Office environment and tools to manage
  • Ability to collect and maintain program information (ie. data collection, documented processes)
  • Creative, compassionate, and flexible regarding work schedule
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Excellent coordination and analytical skills
  • Must have access to a vehicle
  • Knowledge of CED and evaluation issues considered an asset
