The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Finance Officer, the Finance Assistant will perform an array of finance duties, including processing and tracking payments for fee-for-service programs, providing reports as required, and offering other financial support as needed.

The Finance Assistant will work with a focus on Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. Key Responsibilities

  • Create, send, and follow up on invoices for fee-for-service programs.
  • Take and track payments for all fee-for-service programs.
  • Produce reports required for fee-for-service programs.
  • Review and identify any discrepancies related to program staff expense claims, reporting to the Finance Officer.
  • Provide backup to the Finance Officer.
  • Work with the Finance Officer on improving control and financial processes and reporting as required.
  • Assist the Finance Officer with the preparation of the yearly budget as required.
  • Provide additional assistance with the yearly audit as required.

Qualifications/Skills

  • High school diploma or the equivalent combination of a post-secondary accounting course and experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an office environment with similar or related accounting responsibilities.
  • Strong commitment to the principles of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Belonging.
  • Bilingual, English and French oral and written, would be considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases, and relevant accounting software.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Positive attitude, with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding, sensitivity, and discretion relating to issues of concern to persons living with disabilities.

Must live ABLE2’s Catchment Area: Ottawa, Prescott, Russell, Glengarry, Stormont, and Dundas.
