POSITION:
The District of Tofino is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the full-time position of Director of Finance – Chief Financial Officer.

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Finance - Chief Financial Officer is appointed under the BC Community Charter as the Financial Officer for the municipality and is assigned the responsibility of overall financial management. These duties include ensuring the collection, investment, and expending of funds as authorized. Ensuring accurate financial records, the safe keeping of these records, and exercising control and supervision over all other financial affairs of the municipality

The Director oversees the Information Technology Contract for the municipality and acts as the Risk Manager with respect to IT management.

HOURS OF WORK
This is a permanent, full-time position based on a 37.5-hour work week, with an opportunity for modified work week hours per week, located within the District of Tofino.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Chartered Professional Accountants designation.

  • Related bachelor’s degree or demonstrated equivalent abilities.

  • Education in Public Administration or equivalent training

  • Minimum 5 years in a senior financial leadership role
