EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Permanent FT
COMPENSATION: $42.02 (CUPE 339 PG 13)
HOURS: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (8 hours per day)
DAYS: Monday - Friday
LOCATION: On-site
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Capital Projects and Engineering, the Engineering Technician II is responsible for drafting, design, construction and inspection duties, and provides technical support for infrastructure and engineering projects.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 12 or GED (General Equivalency Diploma)

WHMIS
-
Diploma in Engineering Technology from a recognized institution
-
Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
-
2 years of recent related experience
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
-
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
-
Ability to read plans and interpret specifications
-
Ability to interact with other employees and the public in a tactful and courteous manner
-
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
-
Thorough knowledge of drafting and surveying principles and practices
-
Ability to organize work
-
Ability to operate related equipment
-
Familiarity with related municipal policies and procedures
-
Familiarity with City of Nelson/municipal and Worksafe BC safety procedures
