About the role

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Marketing and Communications Specialist to join the Marketing and Communications Team . The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, works well on a small team, and can mange stakeholder expectations in a dynamic environment. A passion and interest in the circular economy and a willingness to learn is critical. This role requires a creative individual who can manage multiple tasks and projects, ensuring high-quality execution and timely delivery.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent in Marketing, Communications, or related fields.

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Marketing and Communications, agency experience an asset.

  • Strong design sensibility with proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with professional design standards.

  • A strong interest in advancing sustainable practices and a proactive willingness to learn and grow within this evolving sector.

  • Demonstrated expertise in email marketing strategy, including campaign creation, segmentation, and performance analysis.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with mastery of grammar, style, and brand voice. Familiarity with Canadian Press Style necessary.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects, ensuring timely delivery and measurable results.

  • Hands-on experience with digital advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, etc.), with ability to optimize campaigns for ROI.

  • Deep understanding of marketing trends, analytics, and audience insights.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and communicate effectively.

  • Experience translating complex information into clear, compelling narratives that support decision-making with diverse audiences including C-suite.

Responsibilities:

Brand and Positioning

  • Lead initiatives to strengthen brand awareness and positioning across target markets.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams across Canada and the state of Michigan to craft and amplify Emterra brand internally and externally. Confidence in advising leadership on communications strategy.

  • Develop a deep knowledge of Emterra Group business division, Ryse Solutions Inc. and its recycling education platform, Recyclability.ca, serving as an internal resource and trusted advisor to ensure all communications accurately reflect organizational priorities, industry positioning, and brand voice.

Digital Marketing

  • Design and optimize digital ads to support recruitment, sales, and brand campaigns.

  • Review and provide feedback on SEO-focused blog posts developed externally, as well as creating polished blog posts.

  • Develop and execute email marketing to B2B audience ensuring clear, consistent messaging that aligns with brand identity.

  • Manage social content creation, scheduling, and engagement for Recyclability.ca and Ryse Solutions’ to strengthen brand visibility and audience connection.

  • Monitor and manage public perception through proactive communications, and review management. Leverage customer and employee feedback to highlight positive stories, address concerns with professionalism, and build trust in the brand.

  • Maintain and optimize company websites and intranet, ensuring content accuracy, user experience, and adherence to brand standards.

  • Use analytics to measure web page success and recommend improvements.

  • Produce short-form video for digital signage, websites, and social platforms.

Collateral Creation

  • Own the content pipeline: plan, write, and edit on behalf of internal clients, in alignment with our brand.

  • Develop internal and external communications (newsletters, announcements) and ensure consistent distribution across channels.

  • Create professional marketing collateral (brochures, flyers, posters) aligned with brand standards.

  • Draft and refine client communications and reports for B2B audiences, ensuring clarity and professionalism.

  • Build and edit presentations that support executive and sales initiatives.

  • Collaborative mindset, able to partner with cross-functional corporate services teams (e.g. HR, Sales, Operations, Health and Safety).
