Role Type: Part-time Independent Contractor Compensation: Hourly, based on experience CFA Society Victoria is looking for an organized, proactive, and creative Events Manager to help deliver engaging professional events for Victoria and Vancouver Island’s investment and finance community. As the local member society of CFA Institute, we support professionals across the region by promoting ethics, professional development, industry connection, diversity and inclusion, and public understanding of the CFA designation and investment industry.
About the Role This flexible, primarily work-from-home position supports approximately fifteen in-person events per year in downtown Victoria, including luncheons, dinners, networking events, the Annual Forecast Dinner, and the Annual General Meeting.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate Society events from start to finish
- Prepare event marketing and communications materials
- Liaise with venues, vendors, speakers, members, and volunteers
- Attend select in-person events in downtown Victoria
- Support event registration, logistics, and follow-up
What We’re Looking For
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization and time management
- Relevant event, project, or administrative experience
- Confidence working independently and meeting deadlines
- Microsoft Office and Canva experience is valuable; other graphics/design tools are an asset
- Experience with Constant Contact and PayPal is a plus
Time Commitment Hours typically average 10–20 hours per month from September to June, with busier periods leading up to the Annual Forecast Dinner in January and February. July and August are generally fewer hours. There are no set office hours, but deadlines must be met.
Compensation Hourly rate to be determined based on qualifications, skills, and experience. No benefits are included.
