Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid)
We are looking for an Integration, Testing and Validation (ITV) Project Lead to join our team in Toronto!
The successful candidate will participate in the Integrated Design Team and provide expert advice for the requirements definition verification and validation. They will provide expert advice for the definition of the verification and validation methods of the technical requirements and for the definition of the test objectives for the testable requirements; they will prepare the strategy for the project integration and testing, coordinate the integration and testing in-plant and at project sites in accordance with the test plans and procedures and prepare the test automation strategy
Key Responsibilities Management:
- Directs the day-to-day activities of the ITV team for successful delivery of work packages. Plans, coordinates, and monitors the performance of the work, identifies and manages risks during all the Work Package lifecycle until the closure.
- Planning, prioritizing and scheduling work
- Monitoring, tracking and reporting on workload results by continuous communication to incumbents and Manager.
- Directs and delegates specific tasks to staff, both in-house and in the field.
- Maintains Project Tracking by monitoring performance against budget and schedule, performance metrics collection and interpretation, weekly and monthly reporting.
- Performs early risk identification and mitigation through corrective actions.
- Supports resource management, including organizing and developing staff, task assignments, labour forecasts within the group, motivating, coaching and training, and maintenance of skill base.
- Provides for Project Planning and Re-planning, including the preparation of all artefacts required (estimates, schedules, estimates to complete, work breakdown structures and Test Plans, Test Procedures, Test Reports, traceability matrices) to deliver CENELEC compliant software products.
- Responsible for managing and completing work/projects assigned to own area of responsibility.
- Provides support and estimates for the functional area for bids.
- Delivers the test and verification program within the cost and schedule targets.
- Works in conjunction with Manager to ensure all recommendations (such as training, tools, etc.) adhere to overall departmental budget.
- Conducts (Chairs: as required) meetings with other groups and/or customers on requirements or processes, ensuring product and work integrity are maintained.
Technical
- Experience in the CBTC domain specifics and read the existing requirements in DOORS.
- Create interface models (Capella model preferred, Visio is minimum required) for the specific functions based on the functional requirements in the Doors
- Create test plan based on the requirements in Gherkin feature (Behaviour Driven development) format
- Exposure to CENELEC is highly valued. Boundary Value Analysis and Equivalency class understanding to create test cases are mandatory.
- Create python language functions required to execute Gherkin test. Familiar with Pytest BDD test framework is highly preferential.
- Timing analysis of the test and fine-tune the tests for robustness
- Manage and maintain the Jenkins pipeline that runs the automation suites of tests.
- Report any findings from the test and work with System Requirement owner and Software team to close the loop.
Product Knowledge:
- To quickly acquire and maintain detailed product knowledge and to actively disseminate this knowledge to more junior staff.
Safety:
- To ensure adequate coverage of the safety requirements in the test program
- To ensure adequate coverage of the safety requirements in the verification program
Tools/Language Summary:
- Python (Mandatory Intermediate level exposure)
- Doors, Gherkin, Capella, Visio (Preferred, trainable)
- GIT, JIRA, Jenkins (Preferred, Trainable)
Required Skills And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- 8+ years of experience
- Team Leadership
- Systems, validation and verification experience for real time and/or safety critical system. ¬ Organizational ability
- Fluent communication skills in English - both written and verbal
- CBTC or domain knowledge in Rail Signaling
- Systems Engineering or equivalent
