Johnston Builders Ltd. is looking for a motivated and experienced Foreman to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is based out of our St. Albert office, Alberta and offers the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects in Jasper, Alberta. You’ll play a key role in delivering quality construction by working on a coordinated turnaround shift schedule, ensuring strong site leadership and coverage when other key team members are on days off. Responsibilities include:
· Work closely with project team during construction to project completion.
· Oversee tasks and crews under the direction from the superintendent.
· Help coordinate and scheduling construction on site. Help with completion / update 3 week look ahead schedules.
· Help enforce project safety as per the Health & Safety program on site. Completion of orientations is expected.
· Help with completion of time sheets and manage all man hours on site.
· Issue field Purchase Orders for some materials, equipment and small contract work.
· Complete force Accounts as required.
· Ensure a clean and organized site.
· Ensure quality control and quality assurance during the construction duration.
· Ensure work is conducted in accordance with Johnston Builders Operation Procedures Manual.
· Complete labour / carpenter related tasks when needed.
· Complete items on the deficiency report.
· May manage small task orientated projects, close out project’s deficiencies, complete warranty work.
· Fill in for Site Superintendent (short term) during holidays.
Ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
· Have a positive attitude, excellent and solid interpersonal skills.
· Know how to navigate through the Building Code.
· Proficient in reading and understanding plans and shop drawings.
· Proven attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
· Some computer skills include the ability to competently operate Microsoft Word, Excel, email, Bluebeam (PDF) writer.
· Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Very effective organizational and time management skills.
