We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Event & Social Media Coordinator!

This is a full-time temporary position from May – August 2026.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Marketing Team Lead, the Event & Social Media Coordinator will provide support to Trico Group’s core marketing team during the busy summer season. This role will work closely with the Social Media Specialist and Marketing Coordinator to support social media initiatives, marketing coordination, and event planning and execution across the organization.

The successful candidate will take ownership of organizing and coordinating events, assist with day-to-day marketing activities, and contribute to the development of engaging social media content. This role is ideal for a highly organized, creative, and energetic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys both planning and hands-on execution.

In addition, the Event & Social Media Coordinator may provide support for Trico Group marketing initiatives as required, including Trico Homes, Trico Communities, Trico LivingWell, Egg & Spoon, and Fuse Fitness Studio.

Job Duties

Event Coordination

  • Coordinate and execute company events, soft & grand openings, community activations, sponsorships, and internal team events as required
  • Manage event logistics including vendor coordination, setup/takedown, supplies, signage, giveaways, and timelines
  • Work with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful event execution
  • Attend and support events outside regular business hours as required
  • Track event needs, schedules, and post-event follow-up/reporting

Social Media Support

  • Assist in creating, developing, and maintaining content across social media channels including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other platforms
  • Create short-form videos, reels, stories, and event-related content
  • Support the planning and scheduling of social media calendars
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and social inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist with capturing photo and video content during events and community activities

Marketing Coordination Support

  • Provide administrative and coordination support to the marketing team as needed
  • Support marketing campaigns, advertising initiatives, and special projects
  • Assist with proofreading, editing, and coordinating creative assets
  • Maintain status updates and support ongoing marketing initiatives
  • Attend meetings, committee meetings, and team planning sessions as required
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing, Marketing Team Lead and Executive Team

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in first or second year post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Event Management, Business, or a related field
  • Strong interest in marketing, social media, event planning, and communications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Creative mindset with an eye for social media trends and content creation
  • Experience using social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok considered an asset
  • Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Hootsuite, or similar marketing tools is considered an asset
  • Positive attitude with strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for events
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle

Work Conditions

  • Temporary contract position from May through August
  • Hours may vary depending on event schedules and business needs
  • Evening and weekend work may be required for events
  • Time off in lieu will be provided for approved additional hours worked
  • Travel within the city & surrounding communities may be required
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
