We are seeking a HVDC Reliability Program Engineer to join our HVDC Reliability Project Department. Under the limited direction of
the Section Head, responsible for the project management and administrative activities on assigned key strategic and complex
projects, or portions of large complex projects, as they apply to the overall planning, design, construction and commissioning
activities. Will provide project management expertise to project participants.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordination between the Project management team and project services department in various areas of

project controls, including estimating, scheduling, risk and financials.

  • Monitor & control, scope, schedule & budget for the project and report on project performance and status throughout the

various stages of the project.

  • Responsible for establishing, monitoring, reporting and progressing all project scheduling and budgeting; including their

impact on resources of the Team.

  • Responsible for multidisciplinary coordination and ensuring the final product meets technical requirements including assisting

stakeholders with the assessment of complex/unconventional deviations to the technical scopes of work, project estimates
and schedules, safety, and environmental requirements, and make recommendations on how to deal with their impacts.

  • Lead, and provide input to, the development of CIJ (Capital Investment Justification) and CIJ Addendums including scope,

schedule, risk and cost estimates.

  • Provide project management expertise to support project participants regarding interdisciplinary engineering, financial, and

resource issues, and in consultation with stakeholders, establish project safety and environmental plans.

  • Provide leadership, direction and mentorship to project stakeholders in the management of a complex and strategic project's

estimate & schedule, execution strategies, human resource requirements, risk assessments, contract management.

  • Ensure adequate performance information is provided to monitor, control and communicate critical issues and deadlines and

manage accountability with all Project Participants and stakeholders.

  • Prepare capital project reports as needed for a variety of stakeholders, such as; variance explanations, outlook forecasts,

year-end forecasts, project reports and summaries, memos, and lessons learned including issues arising from environmental,
safety, licensing, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.

  • Supervise and mentor project staff including, staff officers, project specialists and Engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate in Engineering from a University of recognized standing, with a minimum of seven years related experience

including three years' experience in project management and administration.

  • Professional member in good standing with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (or willingness and ability to attain within a

specified amount of time).

  • Must obtain and maintain a current Personnel Risk Assessment and a "Clear" security rating in accordance with Manitoba

Hydro policy P513.

  • Sound knowledge of fundamentals of electrical, civil and mechanical disciplines.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of and application of Project Management theory including scoping, estimating,

scheduling, procurement, cost control, risk management and change control in an engineering or construction environment.

  • Strong computer skills including experience with scheduling software and the Microsoft Office suite of software. Experience in

the use of SAP and P6 to oversee capital budgets and schedules would be considered an asset.

  • Experience related to projects associated with transmission, distribution, HVDC or natural gas plant operation as it relates to

design, construction and commissioning activities would be considered an asset.

  • Demonstrated high degree of initiative, and ability to maintain working relationships and interact effectively with others at all

levels, both inside and outside the corporation.

  • Mature judgment and proven ability to carry out assigned duties with a minimum of direction and supervision.
  • Additional formal project management training/education and/or PMP or other similar certification would be considered an

asset.

  • Ability to lead, direct and motivate personnel. Proven organizational, interpersonal and leadership abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability in providing mature leadership and delegating authority related to planning, organizing and motivating

the activities of a group of engineers and technical support staff.

  • Thorough knowledge of Corporate policies, procedures and regulations, including Corporate safety & environmental policies

and the Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act and associated regulations.

  • Possess a valid Province of Manitoba Driver's Licence.

Salary Range

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $51.34-$70.34 Hourly,
$98,380.88-$134,784.78 Annually.
