About the role
A business law firm recognized for the complexity of its mandates and the quality of its practice is seeking to recruit a Legal Assistant to support its Litigation team in Montreal. The firm regularly works on high-stakes matters involving national and international companies, financial institutions, and major market players.

The Role
As a Litigation Legal Assistant, you will play a key role in the administrative and procedural management of files. You will support one or more lawyers in preparing legal documents, monitoring procedural deadlines, and coordinating activities related to ongoing matters.
The position offers exposure to complex litigation files as well as close collaboration with the firm’s internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, revise and format various legal procedures, correspondence and documents
- Perform document revisions, comparisons and track changes follow-ups
- Monitor and manage procedural deadlines
- Coordinate filings with courts and relevant authorities
- Organize meetings, conference calls and hearings
- Manage lawyers’ calendars and coordinate activities related to their files
- Handle incoming communications and ensure appropriate follow-ups
- Communicate with clients, courts and other stakeholders as required
- Assist with opening new files and coordinating conflict checks
- Maintain the organization and filing of physical and electronic records
- Support lawyers with time entry management and billing follow-ups
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the smooth progression of files
Requirements
- Diploma in legal secretarial studies or equivalent training
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in litigation within a law firm or professional services environment
- Excellent command of French and English, both written and spoken
- Strong knowledge of court procedures and filing requirements
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously in a dynamic environment
- Autonomy, proactivity and strong sense of priorities
- Strong teamwork skills and client-service orientation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort with technology tools
