Job Description Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Our central scheduling office is seeking a Scheduling & Planning Lead to provide day-to-day expertise and best practice to a team of controls professionals in scheduling to ensure the coordination of scheduling on the project to monitor and control for on-time, on-budget and quality delivery of the projects; and also to manage/lead daily P6 systems related issues.
The Scheduling & Planning Lead will also be responsible for providing timely advice as it relates to trends in project performance from a controls perspective and supporting recovery of projects.
What will I be doing?
- Develop and implement scheduling management systems and tools to support central team.
- Participate in establishing and implementing planning and scheduling processes performed across Rapid Transit & GO Expansions at the program level.
- Support standardized progress reports and dashboards to provide project status updates.
- Provide expertise and analysis to schedule-related activities for central teams.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, project management, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience with increasing responsibility in the management of scheduling and multi-disciplinary interfaces on multibillion projects
- Ability to engage, influence and develop a wide variety of portfolios, program, and project resources.
- Working level experience with all levels of senior management, to convey best for project decisions.
- Working level experience with multiple contractors and procurement/delivery models.
- Exceptionally skilled in schedule management theory, principles, and practice.
- Certification as PMP, PMI-SP, AACE PSP is a plus.
- Transportation project experience and specifically transit experience is a must.
- Proven record of Primavera P6 EPPM cloud-based software management along with solid scheduling experience is preferred.
