Job Summary Reporting to the Maintenance Mechanical Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment. You will collaborate within the Maintenance Department and across other functional areas.

Job Description What you’ll do:

  • Support and participate in all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and activities
  • Install, inspect, lubricate, maintain and overhaul all plant machinery and equipment, such as pumps, compressors, turbines, blowers, exchangers, vessels, towers, piping, and valves
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance work performed as well as make recommendations for future repairs
  • Layout and fabricate items working from drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions
  • Install and use rigging equipment in a safe, compliant and efficient manner
  • Work in a proficient, professional and cost-efficient manner relating to time and materials
  • Responsible for proper daily housekeeping in the shop and in the field
  • Safely use hand and power tools, measuring instruments and other equipment required to complete assigned tasks
  • Utilize SAP to submit hours, add parts and document work order history
  • Comply with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements for each task
  • Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Complete computer-based learning modules and assigned training within timelines
  • Achieve and maintain competency in all functions of assigned maintenance area and provide technical support and guidance to other members of the team
  • Complete all required training to achieve fully qualified status within the Maintenance Technician Proficiency Program

Required Skills

  • Commitment to safety as the embodiment of corporate culture, responsibility and accountability
  • Must have completed a minimum of Grade 12 education or equivalent including Math and English. Grade 11 or 12 Physics will be considered an asset
  • Technical or trade certificate in the Mechanical Technician – Industrial Maintenance (MTIM) program as recognized by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities or equivalent
  • At least 2 years’ experience related to maintenance in an industrial plant. Previous chemical production or refinery exposure will be considered an asset
  • Knowledgeable in the use of various tools and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics and familiar with the relevant safety codes and regulations
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required to support safe operations of the plant
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • CF Industries (Terra International Canada Inc.) is deemed a safety-sensitive manufacturing site. Total Rewards at CF Estimated Base Hourly Rate: $44.80/hour – $66.60/hour

The actual base hourly rate is dependent upon various factors such as education/certifications, training, skills, qualifications, competencies, years of experience, job-related knowledge, scope of the role, and location. The estimated base hourly rate shown does not factor in any applicable premiums.
