Sr. Project Manager - Direct Lending

This contract role is a senior portfolio and project leadership position supporting Direct Lending initiatives, with responsibility for driving regulatory, audit, vendor, and transformation programs while ensuring strong governance, risk management, and stakeholder alignment. Client Details Canadian banking institution Description Key Responsibilities Portfolio Management & Governance Support the intake, prioritization, and tracking of key Direct Lending initiatives Maintain a consolidated view of the initiative portfolio, including status, risks, and dependencies Establish and manage governance routines (status reporting, executive updates, decision forums) Ensure alignment and integration across parallel initiatives to avoid duplication, conflicting priorities, or delivery gaps Project Management - Priority Initiatives Lead end-to-end delivery of select high-priority initiatives Ensure coordination and sequencing across multiple workstreams, vendors, and internal teams Drive execution of initiatives including: Vendor-driven implementations or partnerships Regulatory or compliance initiatives Audit findings and remediation programs Cross-functional transformation efforts Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and deliverables Drive clear ownership, milestones, and accountability across stakeholders Risk, Dependency & Issue Management Identify, track, and actively manage risks, issues, and interdependencies across initiatives Drive audit and regulatory remediation efforts into structured, executable plans with clear ownership and timelines Ensure mitigation plans are defined, tracked, and executed through to closure Stakeholder Management Act as a central point of coordination across multiple stakeholders Facilitate working sessions, steering committees, and executive updates Drive alignment and decision-making across stakeholders in complex or evolving situations Translate complex information into clear, actionable updates for leadership Delivery Discipline & Structure Drive execution discipline across scope, timelines, and governance structures Implement consistent project management practices across initiatives Maintain a clear, integrated view of progress across initiatives Ensure strong documentation (charters, status reports, RAID logs) Drive focus on outcomes, including business impact and adoption, not just activity Qualifications 8-12+ years of experience in project management, program management, or portfolio management Strong experience managing complex, cross-functional initiatives Experience in financial services, lending, or regulated environments preferred Proven track record working on: Vendor-led implementations Regulatory or compliance-driven initiatives Audit remediation or risk-driven programs Experience working in environments with high regulatory, audit, and operational risk complexity Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in parallel Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and bringing structure to evolving work Profile Clear visibility of the Direct Lending initiative portfolio and priorities Strong integration and coordination across initiatives, with minimal duplication or conflicting efforts Improved execution discipline across key initiatives Risks and dependencies actively managed and addressed proactively Strong alignment across Product, Operations, and supporting functions Priority initiatives delivered with measurable business impact Job Offer Lead a high-profile portfolio of strategic lending initiatives.
