About the role

The Senior Project Manager, IDE Systems, will be primarily responsible for project management in-line with the four pillars of scope, schedule, cost and risk related to the Integrated Data Environment (IDE) Systems projects, deliverables and initiatives.

This role will lead the collaboration on all elements of IT development and integration between internal and external stakeholders on the River Class Destroyer Program. Additionally, the role would also contribute to developing, improving and validating plans, processes and policies needed to deliver River Class Destroyer IDE scope.

  • Manage performance of the IDE Systems Engineering delivery by leading regular stakeholder reviews (scope, cost, schedule, risk).

  • Ensures customer expectations are aligned and executed and manage external communication

  • Manages critical project communications and internal reporting at Director level or equivalent

  • Accountable for IDE Risk Management

  • Change Management: Interfaces with the enterprise to manage change that impacts the IDE Systems and interfaces

  • Manage planned and emergent work within their assigned job scope

  • Accountable for the Program execution of the Project Management Plan and Operating Plan

  • Bachelors’ degree with a focus on project management, business administration, accounting, finance, engineering, or computer science/programming.

  • PMP or suitable alternative education/designation (ie. MBA, extensive project mgmt work experience)

  • Program Delivery Knowledge regarding, Budget Management, Risk Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Change Management, Project Management, Reporting and Metrics.

  • Strong understanding of shipbuilding and Program management

  • 10+ years in shipbuilding or warship operations

  • Technical project and risk management experience

Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
