Role Description The Transportation Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Dorval, QC. In this position, the specialist coordinates daily transport schedules, monitors shipments, and ensures that freight moves efficiently and safely through all stages of delivery. Responsibilities include managing transportation plans, communicating with carriers and customers, resolving service issues, and maintaining accurate records of shipments and documentation. The role also involves working closely with warehouse and forwarding teams to optimize routes, control costs, and support continuous improvement in logistics processes.

Qualifications

Strong analytical skills to assess routes, costs, and operational performance and to support data-driven decision-making. Effective communication skills to interact with internal teams, carriers, and customers and to provide clear updates and documentation. Experience with transportation planning, including scheduling, routing, and capacity management. Customer service skills to respond to inquiries, handle issues professionally, and support a positive client experience. Knowledge of transportation management practices, systems, and relevant regulations. Attention to detail and organizational skills for handling documentation, shipment tracking, and reporting. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Previous experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or a related field is an asset. Post-secondary education in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related discipline is preferred.
