Are you ready to join the FMCAD for a career that's both dynamic and impactful? As a Career and Work-Integrated Learning Advisor (CWA), you'll find the perfect balance of creativity and practicality in your daily responsibilities.
Reporting to the Manager of Work-Integrated Learning, you'll play a vital role in the FMCAD Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) team. Your mission is to provide essential administrative support for our WIL initiatives while making a real difference in the lives of our students.
Collaborating closely with faculty, employers, and stakeholders, you'll help to shape the professional development of our creative students; you'll be the bridge that connects their dreams with reality.
As the Career and Work-Integrated Learning Advisor, you will be reaching out to potential industry partners, guiding our Industry Liaisons, and supporting WIL courses to set our students up for success during their Field Experiences.
You'll also play a pivotal role in advising students on their career journeys, offering tailored guidance and support towards program completion. Plus, you'll be involved in designing, developing, and delivering Professional Practice courses, equipping students with the skills they need to thrive.
Lastly, you’ll help to plan and participate in special events that bring together employers, students, and industry professionals, creating invaluable connections and opportunities.

Education

Bachelor's degree in a related field such as career counseling, education, arts or media.

Incumbent will have one of the following certifications (or equivalent): Certified Work-Integrated Learning Professional (CWLP), Career Development Facilitator (CDF) or Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP).
Experience/Skills
-
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in career counseling, career development, or work-integrated learning; strong knowledge of career development theories and strategies.

Experience with student advising and programming in the post-secondary sector.
