Schedule: Full Time, Monday to Friday 8:00 am - 3:30 pm

Responsibilities

• Cultivate a culture that promotes inclusion, innovation, productivity, and collaboration.
• Build strong relationships, listen intently, and utilize clear & transparent communication.
• Dry mops, wet mops (wash/scrub) and polishes hard surface floors. The washing/scrubbing of floors is done with manual or power scrubbing equipment and the polishing is done with hand held or walk behind buffing machines. In large open applications automatic equipment may be used to perform these functions.
• Strips and finishes hard surface floors manually or with power equipment when required.
• Transports garbage from drop points to garbage bins or compactor.
• Cleans glass areas/overheads requiring ladders, scaffolding or other extension equipment to reach.
• Cleans washroom floors including washing, stripping and finishing.
• Cleans overheads/walls/floors/stairwells where ladders of aerial lifts are required.
• Maintains and carries out preventative maintenance procedures on floor machines, vacuums, automatic scrubbers and buffers and larger self propelled machines.
• Mechanical aptitude required
• Capable of lifting up to 50lbs (garbage removal, etc.)
• Hosing down floors and equipment
• Must have clean steel toed, non-slip work boots, preferably waterproof
• Required to work in an environment that is hot, wet & humid
• Wear employer-specified protective gear, including two pairs of gloves, face/eye shields, aprons, boots, etc.
• Exposure to chemical cleaning solution (with protective gear)
• Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting, crouching, etc. during long periods of time
• Follow all Health and Safety guidelines established by spec for this position
• Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma,
• Strong communications skills both written and oral are required.
• Sanitation experience for a major food plant would be an asset.
