About the Role
Your Role in a Nutshell: As a Business Operations Manager, you will act as a strategic partner to the CEO, driving execution on top priorities, ensuring organizational alignment, and enabling efficient decision-making across the business. This role is ideal for a highly organized operator who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and can balance strategy with hands-on execution. An Individual who owns operational leadership, process optimization, team performance, and execution on a part‑time or contract basis, typically 20 hours/week.
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership — Lead daily operations, ensuring alignment with company goals, KPIs, and service standards. Process Optimization — Evaluate and streamline workflows, SOPs, and systems to improve efficiency and reduce operational friction. Team Management — Oversee hiring, coaching, and performance management for operations, customer service, logistics, or production teams. Strategic Planning — Translate business goals into operational plans, resource allocation, and execution roadmaps. Financial Oversight — Manage budgets, forecasting, cost controls, and operational P&L accountability. KPI & Reporting — Establish and track KPIs; deliver weekly/monthly performance reports to leadership. Vendor & Partner Management — Negotiate contracts, manage relationships, and ensure service-level compliance. Change Management — Lead operational improvements, system implementations, and organizational transitions. Risk & Compliance — Ensure operational compliance with industry standards, regulations, and internal policies. Leadership Communication — Provide clear updates, recommendations, and insights to founders, CEOs, or boards.
Qualifications
Operations Leadership Experience — 8–15+ years in operations, general management, or similar leadership roles. Cross‑Functional Expertise — Experience working with finance, HR, sales, product, and customer success. Analytical Skills — Strong ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data‑driven decisions. Process & Systems Knowledge — Familiarity with ERP/CRM systems, workflow tools, and automation platforms. Fractional/Consulting Experience — Ability to deliver impact quickly in part‑time or contract environments. Leadership & Communication — Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive accountability. Bachelor’s Degree (Required) Master’s Degree (Required)
Preferred Skills
Background in startups, SaaS, or service‑based businesses. Experience working in fractional or consulting roles. Familiarity with tools like HubSpot, Asana, Notion, Salesforce, or BI platforms.
Pay range and compensation package
Job Type: Part-Time
*The role is PART-TIME (20 HOURS A WEEK, 5 HALF DAYS) based in Mississauga, ON, with a rate of $50-$70/hour You will work closely with the leadership team and may be expected to be available during core business hours for meetings or urgent matters.
