About the role
Job Description In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reports to the Lead Technologist and is responsible for General Radiography procedures in the Medical Imaging Department, portable and operating rooms. This position, working without general supervision maintains responsibility for the provision of general radiography procedures and results for the assigned permanent night, evening, or weekend shifts.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And Experience Graduation from a recognized Medical Radiation Technology program. Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification as a Medical Radiation Technologist. Eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Previous experience in all types of general radiology.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
