Your Next Challenge The Campus and Talent Engagement Specialist (Temporary-Nunavut) reports directly to the Manager, Talent Acquisition and Early Talent. As part of the Talent Acquisition department, you will collaborate with divisions across Canada while being responsible for campus and talent engagement in Nunavut. This is a temporary position for 18 months.
- Proactively identify and develop partnerships with universities, colleges, technical schools, high schools, student associations, and internal stakeholders to strengthen early talent pipelines.
- Partnered with the Talent Engagement Specialist, you will maintain a detailed events calendar; coordinate registrations, logistics/materials, participant scheduling, and post-event tracking for continuous improvement.
- Responsible for intake sessions with sites to clarify hiring needs and develop accurate job postings and specifications for internships and early talent roles.
- Own the full-cycle campus recruitment process within Nunavut (postings on external platforms, screening, interviews, selection), ensuring timely communication with candidates and hiring managers.
- Ensure a smooth transition from selection to onboarding for students and early talent hires, coordinating with site HR and hiring managers.
- Support and collaborate with Communications to support employer brand and recruitment marketing (campaigns, presentations, videos, job descriptions).
- Stay current on hiring trends to recommend attraction strategies; via events, referrals, and social platforms (e.g., LinkedIn).
- Track and report monthly/quarterly campus and talent metrics across Nunavut to inform talent decisions.
- Support Diversity & Inclusion attraction initiatives across divisions.
- Each Campus and Talent Engagement Specialist will be responsible for engaging and collaborating with the other Campus and Talent Engagement Regional Specialists.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor's degree or certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-3 years of campus recruitment and talent engagement experience.
- Experience and knowledge of mining industry and natural resources is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems; Taleo experience an asset
- Comfort with social media platforms for sourcing and employer brand engagement.
- English is mandatory; ability to travel for recruitment events across Canada and to mine sites as required.
- French is not mandatory but ideal.
- Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality; mining industry experience is an asset.
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Calendar, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A combination of tele-working with presence at our offices in either Val-d’Or, Rouyn-Noranda, Mirabel, QC or Toronto, ON. Occasional visits to site may also be required. Occasional site visits and frequent campus events attendance.
