About the role

Are you looking for a meaningful career? Agricorp has an opportunity for a Research Analyst to join our Program Development Division. The Program Development division plays a vital role in the development of new programs for Ontario farmers and facilitates program changes to ensure effective, timely, transparent and streamlined delivery. This position is with the Program Analysis department, which is the lead for legislative program reporting, statistical analysis, premium rate setting and forecasting.

The Role

The Research Analyst provides expertise in the interpretation and synthesis of agricultural business knowledge and complex data using analytical methods, turning complex data into a useful format to enable decision-making. In this role, you will:

  • Develop user-friendly reports using complex databases and analytical processes
  • Research, collect data and coordinate the analysis for four main groups of activities in Program Analysis: forecasting, analysis, reporting and premium rate setting
  • Provide analytical support to complex and diverse projects for both divisional and inter-divisional initiatives
  • Make recommendations to senior analysts and/or manager for future improvements to processes, standard operating procedures and methodologies
  • Organize analytical tasks and project activities for program analysis in a way that promotes efficiency
  • Provide support and assistance in the delivery of tasks outlined in the Annual Business Calendar as required
  • Frequently resolve complex issues using own experience, technical skill, strong collaboration with colleagues, and policies and procedures
  • Investigate and interpret product and/or program information and provide input to enable others to make recommendations

Salary Range: $70,757 - $83,243
Work status: Full-time in office

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in agricultural business, economics, statistics or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in analytical roles and communicating with diverse stakeholders
  • Relevant mathematical, statistical and forecasting experience
  • Knowledge of Agricorp’s programs and systems, including AgriStability and Production Insurance an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of SAS programing an asset
