What we offer

The Facilities Manager is a skilled and experienced hands-on leader who thrives on solving problems, optimizing systems, and keeping facilities running at their best. This role will take accountability for ensuring operation at peak performance in our manufacturing facilities, playing a critical role in ensuring the reliability of our infrastructure and compliance with regulatory standards. In this role, you’ll combine strategic oversight with day-to-day problem solving to make a real impact on the safety and efficiency of our work environment. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise and a proven track record of managing complex facilities in a manufacturing setting.

What you’ll do

  • Ensure facility compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, and building regulations.
  • Provide rapid and effective resolution of critical facility issues to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing organizations; respond to urgent issues quickly, effectively, and with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Manage facility-related budgets, vendor relationships, and service contracts (e.g., landscaping, snow removal, HVAC maintenance, etc.).
  • Manage vendor performance, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Manage day-to-day facility consumable supplies and MRO stock, tracking usage patterns to optimize stock levels.
  • Partner with Operations and leadership to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the facilities team, driving high performance and accountability.
  • Manage facility permits and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (OHSA, EPA, Ontario Fire Code, etc.).
  • Oversee safety, hazardous materials, and emergency preparedness programs.
  • Conduct facility inspections and audits, resolving issues promptly.
  • Lead health, safety, and environmental initiatives to maintain high operational standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • Post-secondary education in Facilities Management, Engineering, or similar, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and credentials.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in facilities management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, highly automated facilities.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and building systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, and service providers.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.

Bonus Points

  • Certification in Facilities Management, Building Operator designation, or similar.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma practices.
  • Exposure to energy efficiency or sustainability initiatives.
  • Project management experience.
