Medicine Hat College invites applications for a casual Food Service Worker I position at our Medicine Hat Campus.
A little about the role:
Working in a fast-paced food services environment, the Food Service Worker provides exceptional customer service to patrons of the Medicine Hat College cafeteria, common grounds, Crave Pub, concession, caterings, and events. Under the guidance of the Food Services Coordinator, this position is responsible for providing daily and event food preparation, sales and cashier duties, barista coffee services, food service and prep area cleaning, dishwashing, and operating, filling & cleaning equipment. The Food Service Worker will ensure all retail supplies and condiments are filled and stocked and will complete daily task lists including opening, through shift and closing tasks.
Details:
As a successful applicant you'll have:
- High School diploma
- Alcohol service and full-service restaurant experience preferred
- Directly related experience in a fast-paced food services environment is an asset
- Alberta Health Services accredited certificate in Food Safety or willing to complete Food Safety Training
- ProServe certification, or willing to complete ProServe Liquor Staff Training
- Math skills and English literacy
- Strong customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Food Safety Certification is an asset
Terms of Employment
Term: ASAP to July 31, 2026
**Hours:**Casual up to 35 hours per week, as needed and as scheduled by supervisor. Evening and weekend work may be required
Wage Rate:$15.69 per hour (Start Rate); $17.17 per hour (Job Rate)
