We are looking for someone who cares deeply about accuracy, accountability, and building strong teams. As our Accounting Supervisor , you will lead the day-to-day accounting operations that keep our stores running smoothly. This role oversees core financial processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, store cash reconciliation, inventory reconciliation, payroll reconciliation, and expense management.
You will mentor a small team of accounting clerks while building efficient processes that support our 25 stores and growing retail network.
Your work ensures our financial information is accurate, our stores are supported, and our teams can focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Essential Functions
Team Leadership
- Lead and support a team of accounting clerks across AP, AR, reconciliation, and payroll support
- Provide training, coaching, and process guidance
- Review work for accuracy and ensure deadlines are met
- Help build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
Financial Operations
- Oversee accounts payable and vendor payment processes
- Oversee accounts receivable and cash application processes
- Coordinate payroll administration and reporting with HR/payroll providers
- Review and approve employee expense submissions
Retail Store Support
- Oversee daily store cash reconciliation processes
- Monitor and investigate cash discrepancies and variances
- Ensure strong internal controls around store cash handling
Inventory & Reconciliation
- Oversee inventory reconciliation processes across stores
- Investigate inventory variances and collaborate with retail operations to resolve issues
- Ensure POS, inventory systems, and accounting systems reconcile accurately
Process & Systems
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and controls
- Maintain strong documentation and SOPs for finance processes
- Support system improvements and integrations between POS, accounting, and inventory systems
Reporting
- Prepare and review reconciliation reports and summaries
- Provide insights on trends or recurring issues
- Support the finance leadership team during month-end close
Non-Negotiables
- Being a kind and decent human being and contributing positively to the team
- High attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy
- Strong communication with both finance and retail teams
- Comfortable solving problems and digging into discrepancies
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and support a fast-moving retail environment
Requirements
- 4+ years accounting or finance experience
- 1–2 years supervising or mentoring team members
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliations
- Experience supporting multi-location retail or cash-intensive environments preferred
- Experience with accounting software and POS integrations
- Strong Excel / data analysis skills
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or business preferred
- CPA designation not required but considered an asset

Within the first 6–12 months you will:
- Establish consistent reconciliation processes across all stores
- Strengthen internal controls around store cash and expenses
- Support and develop your accounting team
- Improve reporting visibility for leadership
- Identify opportunities to automate or streamline accounting workflows
