About the role
JOB OPPORTUNITY POSITION: Moulding Process Technician
PAY: $33.50/hour starting wage (+ $1.00/hour premium for Continental night shifts)
SHIFT: Rotating 12-hour shifts – 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (rotates every 2 weeks)
LOCATION: Belleville, Ontario
REPORTING TO: Process Engineering Supervisor
Position Profile The successful candidate(s) will be part of a team responsible for the day-to-day manufacturing of moulded products. This position also supports the online setup, optimization, and maintenance of moulding equipment to meet production and quality objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing technical support and continuous improvement for injection moulding machines and related equipment.
- Support new program launches, including process development and validation.
- Track and report on scrap reduction and cycle time savings initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on PFMEAs and control plans.
- Implement error-proofing and detection systems to ensure product quality.
- Conduct audits and identify improvement opportunities in moulding processes.
- Ensure adherence to baseline process parameters via daily audits.
- Provide troubleshooting support to minimize downtime.
- Perform root cause analysis on moulding quality issues.
- Promote and drive continuous improvement within the department.
- Optimize equipment and process capacity to maximize performance.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license (preferred)
- Relevant experience in a process/moulding technical role or a diploma in engineering (preferred)
- Automotive manufacturing experience is an asset
Core Competencies
- Skilled in operating various injection moulding machines, robots, and auxiliary equipment
- Strong understanding of injection moulding processes
- Ability to analyze and resolve technical issues effectively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated with strong follow-through
- Ability to read and interpret 3D CAD, machine, and part drawings
- Consistent performance and attendance record
- Understanding of APQP or willingness to learn
- Strong numerical accuracy
Physical Demands
- Regular standing, walking, climbing, kneeling
- Ability to navigate the production floor efficiently
- Ability to bend, twist, lift (up to 50 lbs), and reach
- Ability to use computer workstations and basic Excel functions
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime as required
